Kristin Hill began her role as Artistic Director of the Sycamore High School Orchesis Dance Troupe in 2007 after being hired to create the new dance curriculum for the physical education department. Since graduating from NIU majoring in dance education, she has choreographed musicals and Orchesis dances for both Neuqua Valley High School and Sycamore High School, choreographing up to 15 dances every year. Dancing since she was three, Kristin has toured the world dancing as Chicago Honeybear Dancer and currently teaches at Northern Illinois Dance Center. She now has three girls of her own who are enjoying dance and this is the first year all three girls will be dancing in the show!
Shelly Tranchita - Assistant Artistic Director
Shelly Tranchita began her role alongside Kristin Hill in 2010 as the Assistant Artistic Director. Dancing throughout elementary, middle school and high school, Shelly's love for dancing has grown into a full blown passion that she loves to share with others. Whether she is choreographing dances, teaching technique or dancing herself, Shelly's passion for dance and the stage shines through. She hopes to inspire her students to live out loud and to dance to the beat of their own drum. She is an avid believer in living life to it’s fullest, dancing your heart out, doing what you love. Shelly teaches Dance Technique and Mind Body Fitness at Sycamore High School.
David Olson - Technical Director
As a graduate of Sycamore High School, David Olson was hired in 2009 as the Auditorium Supervisor. David has designed for Stagecoach players, CCT, and Winnesheik Players in Freeport, IL. He completed a year long internship with the Egyptian Theatre in Dekalb, IL where he still serves as a technical volunteer. David is currently pursuing his degree for theatre education.
Ralph Helm - Assistant Technical Director
A recent addition to the Sycamore High School staff, Ralph Helm’s first year as an Auditorium Technician has included the productions Anything Goes, The Babbling Brooks, and the 2013 Orchesis Dance Show. He is a graduate of Syco High, and enjoys the chance to be a part of its Technical Entertainment Crew again. Ralph is currently pursuing a degree in technical theatre during the day, while spending his nights building sets, setting up equipment racks, and programming lights (and then reprogramming them).
